About This Spot

Pulling up to Nonno Crupi's Pizza, you’re greeted by the low hum of a busy local spot that wears its family-run roots with quiet pride. This isn’t a place to linger over fancy linens or intricate plating — it’s where simple, honest food meets the kind of steady rhythm that comes from years of welcoming neighbors and travelers alike. The modest storefront, tucked along Highway 48, tells you right away that the magic here happens in the kitchen and at the table.

Inside, the mood is unpretentious, with an earnest energy that hints at stories shared over countless slices and sandwiches. The pace moves with the flow of a close-knit community; regulars pick up familiar orders, while newcomers are quickly folded into the easygoing heartbeat of the place. Space is modest, perhaps a bit worn around the edges, encouraging you to take your meal outdoors or enjoy it on the go — a natural extension of its laid-back charm.

Food here feels like a warm conversation, thoughtfully layered and deeply satisfying. The rich, hearty smell of freshly baked pizzas mingles with the tangy invitation of calzones stuffed just right — generous without overwhelming, crafted with care to keep textures balanced. The veal sandwiches, large and hearty, speak to a tradition of comforting Italian fare, where fresh buns and homemade sauces come together in a satisfying balance. Each bite reflects a patient hand, confident in the value of straightforward, flavorful food without flair for its own sake.

The menu’s variety—from classic pepperoni to vibrant veggie slices, wedges loaded with mushrooms and sopressata, to the occasional unexpected Hawaiian twist—mirrors the diverse palate of the neighborhood it serves. Whether you’re on a quick lunch break or fueling up for a road trip, you can count on a meal here to be a dependable, heartfelt experience. The occasional wait and the steady flow of customers only reinforce that this is a place truly loved by many, a quietly beloved waypoint on the map.

Nonno Crupi’s invites you into a slice of local life — a humble gathering place where the simple joy of pizza and sandwiches carries stories, memories, and the pleasant hum of genuine human connection.

Let's talk about calzones. They're huge and full. I personally love sauce so the side sauce is great. I kinda wish there was more inside but i recognize that it may make it more soggy. It is a good day when we can have a Nonno Crupi CAlzone..

One of the best veal sandwiches you can have in the GTA! Sandwich is very big and the toppings and sauce are delicious! Family run pizza shop that’s a true hidden gem. The pizza here is also great and you get great value for the price. Highly recommended for anyone in Stouffville or driving on Highway 48.

Excellent veal sandwich. Cooked fresh and made with good quality meal. Bun was fresh and Tomato sauce was excellent (one of the best I've had on a veal sandwhich). Service was quick and courteous. Took it to go as inside was smallish and kinda run down - picnic tables outside.

Have been wanting to come here for so long as it’s been on my list. Wanted to be different and got a calzone and added a couple slices for my kids to try after school. The calzone was actually cooked so nicely. Crust was soft and not super doughy. Fillings were there, but do wish they added just a bit more. Pizza was great from what the kids said. The Lee was ample amount of toppings and it’s a huge slice so it’s cut into two pieces. The top of the pizza was perfect with the sauce blending nicely with the dough. The bottoms of the pizza was charred nicely but a little too crisp. However, it is definitely a spot you have to stop by when going up this way. Probably best as well for a quick stop when going through to cottage country on the northeast side. Parking was enough as i went midweek and there wasn’t a lot of people at the time. They have a few spots on one side but there is an unpacked shoulder that seems to have some people park on as well. For those nice summer days coming up, they have outdoor seating available as well. The inside is like an old school Italian eatery. Really gives off that nostslgic feel. Service was great. Got my order quickly and received my order before the time was up. Was waiting outside since it was such a nice day and the girl actually brought my order out to me when it was done. Very impressed. Great job overall

Loved the atmosphere. It's pretty busy tho and I was told the waiting time was an hour. Luckily they had a slice of deluxe available. Recommended to order ahead.

This is the best pizzeria in town!! I am not a pizza person but I love their pizza here and I always drop by when I’m around the area. They make the pizza freshly per order, and their daily slices are huge!! Their veal sandwich is one of the popular is here, it’s quite big, I almost couldn’t finish the whole thing. I love their Greek salad, the Kalamata olives are seedless, so I can take big bites on my salad. I also love their wings, they are well marinated, I normally like it plain; but the medium hot is good as well. There few tables and chairs inside the shop but there are benches outside, so I normally enjoy the pizza outside with my friends. And if winter time, we will just eat a few slices in the car before we go home

The best pizza bar none (big comment from me). I drove an hour and a half as i grew up in markham and ate at their old store near my high school. the is the newer location, place is fantastic and pizza tastes the same. absolutely incredible. anytime i am within 30 min i would go back. i purchased the party just for myself so i had it for a few days. great job. They make each pizza with love, seems like fresh ingredients and i will be going back to try more food from the place but the pizza was incredible and the people were nice.
